About the Journal

As a declared nuclear-weapons power with a burgeoning market economy - the world's fourth largest - India is a pivotal state in world politics. It contains a breadth of political, social, cultural, religious, and economic diversity, and yet has sustained a democratic political order in the face of considerable obstacles. Modern India has faced virtually every challenge that confronts humanity and has produced many creative solutions to these challenges as well.

India Review is a quarterly refereed journal that publishes scholarly research on the issues central to Indian politics, economics and society. It combines theoretical rigor and substantive knowledge with policy relevance, and serves as a serious academic forum for understanding contemporary and historical developments in India.
